From Abhivardhan, our Chairperson
This is a post authored by Mr Abhivardhan, our Founder and Chairperson.

I understand that the #AI and #tech community is deeply concerned by the vague AI Advisory by India's Ministry of IT.
You can read about the advisory here:
The MeiTY Advisory on "Approving AI Platforms" and its Far-Reaching Issues
On March 1, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued an advisory to all digital platforms, emphasising the importance of ensuring that Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies do not compromise the integrity of the electoral process. This directive, although not legally binding, underscores the government's concern over the…
I have discussed about that already. The risk of this advisory is that this document can lead to regulatory capture and subterfuge at the same time.
Let's discuss my last trip in February 2024 / first trip in March 2024.
I am so glad to empanel and participate in some of the discussions and paper presentations held by Mahindra University, Hyderabad for their International Technology Law Conference, 2024.
Their hospitality and endless support has been exemplary. I also appreciate their curation of topics and speakers. Some of the best minds in #technologypolicy and #technologylaw in India, and even beyond attended this event, #physically and #virtually.
Even some of our experts and specialists from the Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law, such as Bogdan Grigorescu and Akash Manwani had also attended the law conference. I missed the presence of Rodney D. Ryder, who was going to co-panel a session with me.
A perspective on the European Union's AI Act by Dragos Tudorache, Member of the European Parliament and on the proliferation of AI Use Cases in public sector in India by Rama Devi Lanka - were a delight to listen and learn from.
As I had chaired a few tracks of the paper presentations on technology law and AI, I am more than happy to extend my best wishes to Dr rahul Nikam, Dr Dr. Sangeetha Sriraam, Satyajeet Panigrahi and Mr Nideesh Kumar T V for their amazing presentations on international law and digital tech.
It was also fun discussing nuances of AI regulation and ethics with #AyanSharma from BTG Advaya and Prof. Rishi Raj. The audience has really been evocative and helpful.
I wish Mahindra University continues to organise this international conference, and continues an enriched legacy.
