Your Friendly Tech Law 'Dictionary' is now 1.42 years old!
From Abhivardhan, for Indic Pacific Legal Research
Another project celebrating nearly it's 1.42 years.
When I had started the aiact.in project in November 2023, I had started another project for Indic Pacific Legal Research LLP - the Indic Pacific Glossary (indicpacific.com/glossary).
And now, in April 2025, I am so delighted to say that this tiny, lovely glossary now encompasses 85 definitions on technology law, machine learning, artificial intelligence policy, and international relations!
It's been a crazy and silent journey for us. We kept estimating trends at Indic Pacific, and also engaged in some feedback sessions with Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law members if they found any new term that was great enough to be added.
Like Nirmalya Dutta inspired me to add the term "Western Europe and North America", aka, WENA, which is a counter-responsive analogy term to the idea of MENA (Middle East and Northern Africa), a US foreign policy scholarship term to stereotype West Asian region.
Then, I also created some definitions, like Framework Fatigue, thanks to conversations I've had with Simrin Kapoor and others, for the Hyderabad AI Governance Workshop I did in Feb 2025.
Prof. Gary Marcus - who intentionally ignores me, also inspired me to add a term called 'Roughdraft AI' which I attributed to his coinage anyways, and some of my refined ideas.
There were some other terms as well - like Artificial Intelligence Hype Cycle - inspired by my report with Bhavana J and Sanad Arora on AI Hype and Competition in Dec 2022, Manifest Availability - based on the 2020 Handbook on AI and International Law, and my paper for a Czech Academy of Sciences SOLAiR Conference 2019. I must admit that Dr. Jeffrey Funk's works on AI hype partly inspired me to define this term first in our firm's report, and then this glossary.
These definitions take us back to time as well.
Anyways, the updated glossary covers all important Responsible AI definitions as well, and not those which are over-exaggerated, so please do not expect us to explain hyped up concepts on AI and AI policy, please.
