Weekends are cool when Lucknow opens up to the Literature Festival season (think of this like the legal eagle conferences, or the geopolitics/ industry conference seasons in Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai).
I was honoured to present the second edition of my AI and International Law book to Sanjeev Sanyal, Member, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), during the occurrence of the Koshala Literature Festival 2024.
You can get my AI and Law Book at https://amzn.in/d/8jjnd6G
Mr Sanyal was invited to talk about economic issues around jobs in India, and on RCEP. He resonates (and even I do) with the criticism of NITI Aayog CEO's statement that India should join trade & supply chain pacts like RCEP.
It's also nice to see someone from the EAC-PM to keep hitting and suggesting relevant hard points for the larger Indian state.
Our brief interaction however was more around Complexity Systems (or complex adaptive systems), since I had submitted a detailed feedback on his paper on AI and Complex Adaptive Systems to one of his co-authors (access the report here: https://indopacific.app/product/artificial-intelligence-governance-using-complex-adaptivity-feedback-report-first-edition-2024/).
I am also happy to announce that thanks to the inputs of Akash and Sanad from the ISAIL Secretariat, the Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law will launch an important declaration adopted at a pan-ISAIL level on development economics & public policy, which I have named as the "Lucknow Declaration on Policy & Development".
This declaration will be launched this week since we at ISAIL believe that the proliferation and build up of AI is impossible in India without leveraging the potential of the North-Central Region, especially the state of Uttar Pradesh. 🙏
