Happy to share this jubilation that Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law has completed 5 years (or will complete on November 16). This is something truly personal to what we have built from scratch.
ISAIL has risen as an emerging industry forum, starting out afresh in 2019, as a legal community, helping and building a tech policy fraternity, by supporting and mentoring students of law.
1️⃣ Our first publication had come in April 2020. We had already published around 50+ or more papers, and nearly 3-5 research collections in the years 2020-22. We have also mentored around 100+ law, tech and policy students and ongoing.
2️⃣ Our first digital moot (first in India) on AI and Arbitration Law was successfully done in 2021.
3️⃣ We led an in-house journal, called the Indian Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Law (IJAIL).
4️⃣ The Bharat Pacific, our podcasting initiative has already achieved 100+ (maybe 200) roundtables, interviews, and discussions on YouTube, tons of hours of original content on technology policy, and geopolitics.
5️⃣ We are now open to invite technology startups, MSMEs, research labs and open source communities to join the aistandard.io Alliance (isail.in/aistandard) for further AI standardisation efforts.
In the next part of our journey, since we already have an India-led, and India-focused knowledge base on AI policy, we demonstrate our independent experience in fostering technology policy efforts to invite companies to obtain the Alliance Membership of ISAIL.
There will always be more to come for us, I strongly believe in that.
We are grateful for the well-wishers and colleagues, who have been following us and supporting us for long, from our dear Bogdan Grigorescu to Vignesh Ram, PhD, and my lovely Secretariat team, from Mridutpal Bhattacharyya to Kapil Naresh, Pratejas Tomar, Akash Manwani, Sanad Arora and Bhavana J.
Special thanks to also those hidden gems, who have been wishing well of us. May more things happen. India's AI story is still unfolding.
