Making our Industry Forum's Intro Video using Luma.AI: An Experiment
From Abhivardhan, our Chairperson
Since it is holidays time, and I am in no mood to discuss real policy issues for a moment - please spare me - I experimented Luma.AI to make introduction videos for the Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law. ππ
In this video below, you can see the two different iterations.π¬π
First one is more of a regurgitated way to create a modern-style Lucknow-based rangoli/ mandala design, which leads to the ISAIL intro. I chose that style honouring the modern sub-cultures of Lucknow beyond the hype of Nawabi culture dominance.
Second one is interesting. It seems that Luma tried to picture the holographic view of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus or some area in Churchgate (cc Tanmay Saukur) and then depicts in its own way, the ISAIL logo. ππ
I find them fun, and experimental. This is why I love calling Generative AI as Rough Draft AI, a term coined by Dr Gary Marcus in any of my interactions.
Do I think this is revolutionary? Umm maybe no. I might, however, think of recreating some segments of both or one of them, manually or using special tools, to conceive a unique ISAIL intro. Kind of like a Ship of Theseus situation, but not that much.
So thanks to Marvel Studios' Wandavision, I can talk about what is the Ship of Theseus π
.
The Ship of Theseus is a philosophical paradox about identity and change. π’π€
Imagine a ship with all its parts gradually replaced. Is it still the same ship? π
To make it even more intriguing, philosopher Thomas Hobbes added a twist. What if someone collected all the old, discarded parts and rebuilt the original ship? Now we have two ships β which one is the "real" Ship of Theseus? π³οΈπ³οΈ
This applies to Rough Draft AI too! Make improvements in the way you use these AI tools, and see what more sustainable use cases in AI can you achieve π€β‘οΈπ.
Sounds fun right?
So, while we're having fun with Luma.AI and ISAIL intros, we're actually diving into deep questions about identity and change in this training programme (feel free to enrol if you wish): https://www.indicpacific.com/challenge-page/aiip101?programId=89e7d2a3-213d-4231-8cc9-291d114fff3c π§ π‘
