“One of the toughest yet most rewarding roles? 🧐
Being a judge—especially when it comes to evaluating creative, forward-thinking AI solutions.” 🖥️
Last month, I had the privilege of stepping into that role at MICA | The School of Ideas and UNESCO India’s AI Futures Lab in Ahmedabad, where students from across India showcased their innovative AI-driven use cases to address real-world challenges.
India’s potential for impactful AI applications is immense. Imagine AI enhancing public goods—from smart water management systems to waste reduction and air quality solutions. Think of the strides in cybersecurity where AI can proactively detect and neutralize threats, safeguarding our critical infrastructure and personal data.
The discussions around digital legacy and social media highlighted AI’s role in ethical content moderation, preserving cultural narratives, and promoting digital literacy. And in education, the possibilities of AI-driven personalized learning stood out as transformative, bridging accessibility gaps and providing quality resources to every student in the country.
The AI Futures Lab was more than an event; it was a testament to AI’s role in shaping a future where technology aligns with human needs and values. Each project I evaluated along with an amazing bunch if my fellow co-Judges was a powerful reminder of AI’s potential to drive meaningful, responsible change in India and beyond.
A huge thank you to MICA and UNESCO India for creating such an impactful platform and allowing me to be part of this incredible journey.
Special appreciation to all the Mentors, Director, Principal and Faculties 🎉
Eager to see these innovations take flight and shape the AI landscape for the better!
