The tides of change are apparent internationally: whether it be differing strategies at Davos, a renewed Indian alignment with the Quad, or a renewed spotlight on southeast Asia, the state of this relationship has international implications. The panel discussion will examine potentialities for this long and storied relationship, taking into account current and developing events, such as the Lok Sabha elections, the various consequences of redirection of FDI away from China, tensions over the Tibetan border, and changing relations in the Indian Ocean.
Panelists Dhruva Jaishankar of the Observer Research Foundation and Jeff M. Smith of the Heritage foundation will offer perspectives from the vanguard of security studies into this relationship, while Akshat Singh of the Center for Strategic and International Studies will offer his expertise on the role of commercial partnerships between the US and India from the lens of de-risking.
This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in international relations, economics, and/or geopolitical strategies to gain a deeper understanding of how far-reaching the implications of this relationship and to witness firsthand how academic discourse around the topic is evolving.
Satvik Pendyala will be moderating this session.
