Okay, I had two major speaking engagements on AI governance and diplomacy and it would be unfair to not emphasise upon both of these sessions.
In fact, the second session was among the most fun ones.
So, the Indian Forum for Public Diplomacy (IFPD) and Governance Consulting Group (GCG) had hosted me to deliver something impactful for their audiences.
For GCG folks led by the savagely nice Ankit Raj, I had to discuss about data scraping techniques, and the economics of AI (something which I have been trying to work around with Dr.Hoda A.Alkhzaimi and Sankalp Srivastava for some time now).
For IFPD led by Vrinda Chaturvedi, I had already told it was a session around AI diplomacy.
Here's what I liked the most from both the sessions:
1️⃣ The audience asked me so many decent questions. Some were usual stuff, but a lot of them were interesting. This was a relief after a long time since I have lost count how many online engagements I have done in 2025 (10 maybe?).
2️⃣ Both issues had some aspects around the fundamental value of AI systems as we know them today. Language models are not reliable, and as Francois Chollet has argued (here:
) some LLMs can be neurosymbolic in some way or the other.
Still, it shows that there are some questions make me rethink about the reliability of AI systems, because we can't just have a blind approach to AI safety per se, when some workflows and models are not reliable. It doesn't end the "AI Safety for LLMs" chapter totally, but it's still interesting.
Btw, you can access the presentation I had done for IFPD anyways at https://indopacific.app/product/ai-bias-the-overlap-of-ai-diplomacy-and-governance-ethics-dilemmas/
I think my next post will be about the real risks around AI Agents in commercial law since a lot of time has passed around them as a narrative and a sub-section of AI technology.
In case many don't know: we had opted Alexandre Kantjas's definition of "AI Agents" for Indic Pacific Legal Research LLP's Glossary, so do check this definition and let us know if it makes sense or not: https://www.indicpacific.com/glossary-a-e/ai-agents
But we had also defined GaryMarcus'd, dedicating the critiques of LLMs by Gary Marcus as well haha: https://www.indicpacific.com/glossary-f-j/garymarcus'd
In short - it's fun learning from both the sides of the same coin.
More updates are incoming, soon. Stay tuned. This week will be fired up, while I still wait for a vacation to happen for me. 🫠
